The traditionally dyed cottons of the people of Mali are the inspiration for this artistic mud cloth. Since its early roots in this rich culture, it has been the men’s job to weave the fabric, which is then passed on to the women. They then dye the fabric with mud that has been fermented for up to a year. Then the fabric is dried in the sun and the symbolic patterns are painted on by hand. The patterns traditionally worn by hunters are rich in cultural meaning, referencing historical events, mythological concepts or proverbs.

CARE
Please wash gently. Do not bleach and do not iron. The blanket can be dry cleaned, but should not be put in the dryer. We recommend to air dry the blanket.

ORIGIN
The blankets are made with a traditional process, sustainably in South Africa. Fair payment for the producer is very important to us.
